The Japanese Who Are They?
The dominating position attained by Japan in the Far East during the past fifty years has, very naturally, induced many writers to busy themselves with theorizing as to the racial origin of this people, named by some The Hermit Kingdom because of its isolated residence for so many centuries in its island home.
Historians and Bible students have each tried their hand at unraveling this problem of tracing the national ancestry of the Japanese. The latter have naturally gravitated to the usual attempts to identify them as some porton of northern Israel, the usual hunt for the lost House of Israel. When in doubt, suspect they are of Israel, seems to be their rule; and it would be strange indeed if Bible students could not find some, probably several, traces of Israelitish customs of tradition of Israel, but also of those nations who are toome into close contact with Israel in the final drama of the future.
